The overall solution typically consists of a customer application, a backend system, barcode and card input/output readers, a camera surveillance system and remote monitoring centre, scan & go functionality, SCO (Self Check Out) and a payment terminal.
Electronic shelf labels (ESL) are often part of the solution to enable efficient price management.
Our solution offering includes all of the above components, but also allows for modular implementation depending on the customer's requirements.
So how does it work?
Customers gain access to the store by scanning a QR code in the operator's app or a bar code on a store card. This is done three times - firstly at an external point to access the premises, secondly at a gate solution to enter the store and thirdly to leave the store.
The system automatically identifies the customer number and the person entering the store is authenticated, including age verification where necessary.
They're then free to move around the store and choose from the products on offer. When they have finished shopping, they proceed to the checkout area, which is equipped with a self-scanning checkout device.
The customer scans individual items from the basket or uses the Scan&Go functionality in the app. Finally, they pay cashless with a payment card and leave the store after successful verification by the customer app.
